Class Description:
Begin your journey toward a rewarding healthcare career in our 105-hour Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Program. This comprehensive, hands-on course combines classroom instruction, skills lab practice, at the Hartford Area Career and Technology Center and clinical experience at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital to prepare you for both the Vermont and New Hampshire LNA competency exams. Led by experienced instructor Amanda Fay, you'll gain the knowledge, confidence, and compassionate caregiving skills needed to begin a career in hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and home health settings throughout the Upper Valley.
What You'll Learn:
- Provide safe, compassionate patient care including bathing, dressing, feeding, transferring, and mobility assistance.
- Measure, document, and report vital signs while recognizing changes in a patient's condition.
- Practice infection prevention, patient safety, and professional communication in real healthcare settings.
- Develop the clinical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to successfully complete the Vermont and New Hampshire LNA competency exams and enter the healthcare workforce with confidence.
