Construction Fundamentals: Everything you need to know to replace your windows yourself.

Gain the confidence and practical skills to install replacement windows like a pro in this 16-hour, hands-on construction course. Led by experienced contractor Frans van de Ven, you'll learn industry best practices for safe, energy-efficient window installation while working with professional tools in a real shop environment. Whether you're a homeowner looking to save on renovations, a DIY enthusiast, or interested in exploring the construction trades, this course will give you the foundation to tackle window replacement with confidence.

What You'll Learn:

  • Safely use professional tools and understand proper jobsite safety practices.
  • Measure, remove, and install replacement windows using industry-standard techniques.
  • Flash, seal, and insulate windows for long-lasting, energy-efficient performance.
  • Finish the project with interior and exterior trim while avoiding common installation mistakes.

Enrollment is confirmed only upon payment or verified financial assistance. Classes are filled on a first-paid, first-accepted basis—registration alone does not guarantee a spot unless payment is made with a credit or debit card at the time of registration. Students seeking scholarship funding should apply immediately after registering. Those who have not secured payment or confirmed funding will be moved to the waitlist. Financial assistance approved prior to the start of class will be considered as payment, provided space is still available. Most financial awards remain valid for six months and may be applied to a future course of the same content. Refunds are issued only if a class is canceled.
